Brewsletter - March Round Up

Our brewsletter round-ups capture some of the exciting news and brews happening at Vault City and we've now decided to share these as blog posts too. March was another busy month with Untappd awards, two collaborations at home with Thiccc Sauce and Hard Lines Coffee plus two away collabs with our pals at Siren and Sureshot (keep your eyes peeled for some cans on our web shop soon...)

Untappd Awards

In case you missed it, we won a bunch of Untappd Awards for our 2024 check-ins and releases! We took home 18 awards including Best Imperial/Double Milk Stout, best Smoothie Pastry Sour and best Shandy/Radler in Scotland, with some of the highest rated check-ins globally. This is an incredible achievement and a huge testament to the our amazing production team. There was also another amazing stat from Untappd which highlighted Vault City as the #1 most checked-in brewery (across all styles) over the last 90 days (stat from March 6th). This was absolutely mind-blowing for us given that 6 years ago we were brewing beer from the kitchen of a cosy Edinburgh flat.

Hard Lines Collaboration

Last month we launched an exciting collab with Hard Lines, a coffee roaster in Wales who have since been fuelling our office every morning. Our Crema Imperial Stout duo were infused with two Hard Lines coffee variations (specifically House Party, a Brazilian blend used in Vanilla Crema, and Peru in Salted Caramel Crema. The feedback has been brilliant, as have the Untappd ratings. We’re down to our last few cases so if you haven’t tried already, make sure you get your hands on some cans.

International Women’s Day

This IWD, Katie our Marketing Assistant led on comms around our aspiration to make an impact beyond a social media post. The craft beer industry has long been a male-dominated space, we recognise our own team reflects that reality and that we have a part to play in creating inclusive, more equitable workplaces within beer. We’ll be sharing updates through the coming months and have committed to quarterly charity donations for organisations working to support women in the industry and beyond. We started with Edinburgh-based charity Engender who were our original charity partner when we joined the Brave Noise initiative.

Thiccc Sauce collab

Our Fruits of the Forest beer remains one of Vault City’s highest rated sours and we were really excited for its return in March. The latest edition saw the return of ‘Vaulter’, our illustrated character drawn by the talented Aberdonian artist Stuart Allan. Check out his work and the character’s evolution here. We couldn’t bring Vaulter and Fruits of the Forest back without getting Thiccc Sauce involved. Luca and his team whipped up a fresh batch of breakfast hot sauce to pair with the beers’ fruit flavours.

Big Swally Edinburgh - 50% Line-Up Announced

Our Big Swally Edinburgh Beer Festival with The Caledonian Craft Beer Merchant is back this October and we’ve now announced the first 50% of the line-up with a great mix of UK and international visitors. It’s set to be a big one and we’ve plenty more breweries still to come. Get your tickets here

You Choose We Brew

On Monday we launched You Choose, We Brew – a competition to create your dream beer concept and we got over 1,000 entries in less than 24 hours. We’re also running this campaign for trade, export and wholesale customers and we’ve had some incredible suggestions. We’ll share our favourites after the competition closes this Sunday!
