Some Burns Nights are about reciting poetry and addressing the haggis. This one’s about Buckie Bomb gravy, fiery brew-infused cranachan, and raising a glass of sour beer to the Bard himself. 

For one weekend only, we’ve teamed up with Edinburgh-based chef King of Feasts to launch a Burns Weekend specials menu soaked (quite literally) in Vault City sour beer. It’s all happening at The Hanging Bat on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th January. 

King of Feasts

If you’ve eaten one of Rob Casson's dishes before, you’ll already know why he's chef royalty. Based in Edinburgh, and currently smashing a residency at The Hanging Bat, they’re known for bold, indulgent food that takes classic ideas and dials them right up to 11. Which is exactly why this collab made sense. Sour beer in desserts? Buckie Bomb gravy? Rob's ideas were music to our ears. 

Buckie Bomb & Fiery Iron Brew

This whole menu is built around two Vault City heavy hitters.

Buckie Bomb

A fresh tribute to a true cultural icon, Buckie Bomb is our latest take on the legendary "wreck the hoose juice" cocktail pairing flavours of iron brew and tonic wine with juicy blackberries & caffeine. Packed with tangy Buckie vibes, caffeine and juicy blackberries, this Sesh Sour delivers familiar flavours of sweet, dark stewed fruits, citrus & bubble gum.

Fiery Iron Brew

There are plenty of fiery gingers in our great nation, but none quite like this!
Our spicy, sour love letter to Scotland’s other favourite soft drink. Fiery Iron Brew brings that unmistakable flavour with a gentle heat and a sharp sour edge that cuts straight through sweetness. Dessert-friendly, cocktail-ready, and dangerously moreish.

Fun fact, we're currently (this weekend 23rd-25th Jan 2026) giving away free beer for fiery gingers at our Edinburgh Taproom The Wee Vault.

Burns Buckie Beef Melt

Braised beef shoulder and haggis, stacked up and smothered in pickled blackberries and Buckie Bomb onion gravy. This is Burns Night comfort food with rich, savoury, sweet, sour flavours. 

Fiery Brew Cranachan

Rob, King of Feasts has created a Vault City take on a Scottish classic. Vanilla cream, Fiery Iron Brew–infused raspberries, Fiery Iron Brew syrup, and sprinkles. Because Burns would’ve wanted it that way (probably).
