WINTER INDIE COLLAB
We were thrilled to welcome our friends from Inn Deep, The Town Mouse, and Jars Bar to our brewery for an exciting juicy collaboration. This marks our third indie collab, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on our independent trade customers who have supported us over the years.
As part of the collaboration, we shared our unique Sour School experience, where our guests had the chance to experiment with our base beer. They crafted their own creations using a variety of fruit juices and purées, showcasing the versatility of our sours. After graduating from Sour School, we sampled some fresh sours straight from the tank and started creating our collaborative recipe! Together, we brewed Damson Plum Cobbler, the perfect festive spiced sour.

As an independent brewery, supporting local businesses is incredibly important to us, and our membership with SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) reflects that commitment. Recently they have launched the INDIE BEER campaign aiming to make the INDIE BEER mark a trusted symbol of quality for craft and cask beers brewed by independent breweries across the UK. Celebrating the dedication of independent brewers and giving consumers an easy way to spot authentic, high-quality beer. Through SIBA, we’re proud to be part of a network dedicated to championing independent breweries, protecting local pubs and retailers.

Each of these incredible venues showcase the passion, creativity, and community spirit and are the definition of independent craft beer. All adding their own unique spin to the local craft scene and we couldn’t have asked for better partners to bring this wintery brew to life! Here’s a bit more about what makes each of them such a unique part of the craft beer community.
THE TOWN MOUSE
The Town Mouse Ale House is a cosy, independent micropub located in Newcastle. They have been a customer since 2021 and offer high-quality cask and keg beers, primarily from North East breweries, alongside British ciders, wines and soft drinks. Making it an ideal spot for both beer enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
INN DEEP
Located in Glasgow's West End, Inn Deep has been with us since 2022 and is a must-visit for craft beer lovers looking for a laid-back riverside vibe. Known for its rotating selection of craft beers, Inn Deep offers something for everyone.
JARS BARS
Jars Bar joined us in 2021 and bring an edge to London’s cocktail scene blending industrial charm with creative mixology, this eclectic spot offers unique twists on classic cocktails alongside a curated selection of craft beers and wines.
WHY A SPICED PASTRY SOUR?
Pastry sours have become one of the most exciting trends in the craft beer world over the past few years, and for good reason. These unique brews combine the fruity, tart flavours of sours with the sweet, decadent notes found in desserts. The style first gained popularity in the late 2010s when a few brave breweries—began experimenting with ingredients like marshmallow, lactose, and spices to create a whole new kind of beer. Playfully dubbing these mixtures as “pastry sours,” and the name stuck, marking the start of dessert-inspired sours that have since become a fan favourite.
For our latest pastry sour release the Damson Plum Cobbler, we took inspiration from some of our past crowd-pleasers, like the Blue Boysenberry Cobbler. This dessert inspired pastry sour perfectly achieved the balance between sweet and tart. We packed it with flavours of damson plum and blackberry to give it that rich, fruity depth. For an extra seasonal touch we added a hint of cinnamon that brings warmth to every wintery sip and the irresistible flavours of a freshly baked cobbler cooling on the windowsill.
While it’s rich in flavour, we’ve opted for a lower ABV making this a sessionable choice for anyone craving that dessert vibe without the heaviness. With its warm, spiced notes, it’s perfect for those winter evenings when you’re looking for something comforting and a little indulgent.
As with all our indie collaborations, we’re giving our trade customers an exclusive first pour of this new release. But don’t worry—you won’t have to wait long! The Damson Plum Cobbler will be available on our web shop starting 26th November , just in time to stock up for those cosy winter nights.
