We released over 65 beers in 2022, and while we brewed some of our personal favourites this year, we wanted to share a list of the top ten highest rated Vault City beers according to you, via the admittedly divisive platform of Untappd...
So here it is, our 2022 round-up of our top rated beers... (worth noting that ratings can and often do change, but trust us, they're all great beers!)
No. 10 - Vault Wagon, Marshmallow, Jam & Chocolate Pastry Sour, 9.5%
Saddle up for a pastry sour that was as wild as the west...
Vault Wagon, our 10th top rated beer of 2022 was a vegan friendly pastry sour that paid homage to a beloved childhood classic; the Wagon Wheel - with the iconic combination of juicy strawberries, smooth dark chocolate, sweet biscuit and fluffy marshmallow, all in perfect harmony against a light sour base.
Yee-Haw.
No. 9 - Rhubarb & Custard, 8%
It’s no mix-up that these flavours found themselves together.
Imagine your favourite childhood sweet crossed with the classic dessert. Rhubarb & Custard was our full-bodied dessert sour with milkshake vibes, where the tang of rhubarb sat beautifully against creamy vanilla custard notes.
No. 8 - FruitFool, Mango, Raspberry & Vanilla, 7.5%
A recent visit from pals at Yonder Brewing proved fruitful, and together they helped us create our take on their epic Fool series.
Introducing FruitFool, our 6th top rated beer of 2022 - sweet, tart and packed to the brim with bold flavours from the combination of mango, raspberry & sweet vanilla, all resting on a delicately sour base beer.
No. 7 - In a Gaelic Sea Far, Far Away, Islay Whisky Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, 10%
From a Gaelic Sea, Far, Far Away…
An alliance was formed between Vault City and Emperor’s Brewery to create one of the greatest Imperial Stouts the galaxy had ever seen. Seven months of barrel-aging in the freshest whisky casks from Islay has infused the iconic smokiness, adding layers of complexity and depth to this intense, whisky-forward stout.
Scottish heather honey, creamy vanilla and lactose round out the flavour with a delicate sweetness, in harmony with the light bitterness from East Kent Golding hops. The addition of midichlorians awakens the force inside each bottle…
No.6 - Triple Fruited TIPA, Guava, Pineapple & Passion Fruit, 10%
Our pals at North Brewing Co. are renowned pioneers of the British craft beer scene, and they know a thing or two about Triple IPAs. For this collaboration, we decided there were only two options; go big or go home…
Introducing our Triple Fruited TIPA with guava, pineapple, and passion fruit. In this one-of-a-kind release, you’ll find our signature mixed fermentation base beer, heavily fruited and triple dry-hopped with a combination of Citra, El Dorado, Talus and Sabro, accentuating the intensely juicy, tropical flavours of guava, pineapple and passion fruit.
No.5 - Diamonds in the Mud, Glittery Imperial Stout with Chocolate, Tonka & Vanilla, 10.1%
The epitome of decadence, our chocolate-laden collaboration with Amundsen has been infused with mountains of edible glitter which sparkles like diamonds among the rich, dark colours of this imperial stout.
We invited everyone to indulge your senses with deep chocolate flavours from cacao nibs, and a velvety smooth mouthfeel from lactose and creamy vanilla.
No.4 - Red Fruit Coconut Dreamcake, 9%
We were dreaming of this one since we last took inspiration from our friends in Denmark. Their Drømmekage was like a revelation to us, and for this release we combined a new medley of our favourite fruits in honour of this traditional treat. Flavours of freshly picked strawberries meet honeyberries and mango to create a thick, smoothie style sour which is then decadently layered with hand-toasted coconut flakes.
No.3 - White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake, 8%
Inspired by one of our favourite desserts, White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake took indulgence to the next level.
Decadent layers of white chocolate meet raspberry tartness created an intense flavour combination. The addition of creamy vanilla and lactose gives a rich, thick mouthfeel, all resting on a delicate sour base.
No. 2 - 999g/L Strawberry Banana Vanilla Crunch, 10.7%
We took our (somewhat) sensible 999g/L series deep into Pastry-town. Banana & Strawberry combine with Madagascan vanilla, lactose and honeycomb for a thick, tart and deliriously decadent delight. Brewed exclusively for the 2022 festival season.
No. 1 - Fruits of the Forest Triple Stacked Breakfast Waffle, 10.3%
Our top rated beer of 2022 combined our favourite fruits with our favourite breakfast to make a beer that's stacked with flavour.
With blackberries, rhubarb, strawberries, apples, and raspberries sat beautifully against flavours of maple and vanilla, the result was a soft, creamy mouthfeel.
This fresh fruit medley sings in perfect harmony through every sip of this delicately sour, breakfast-esque smoothie beer.
